Checking learner evidence
– FAQs for Facilitators

Everything you need to know about reviewing learner evidence on the platform. For the full detail of what counts as acceptable for each unit, see the Evidence Standards: What Is Permissible guide.

There are three ways to get there:

  1. From your home page, click the green Check Worksheets button.

  1. From the grey back-office screen, click Manage assignments.

  1. From the grey back-office screen, click Review Center.

All evidence waiting to be checked will appear under Unreviewed / Ungraded.

As quickly as possible. Prompt feedback keeps learners engaged and prevents a backlog building up. Evidence that has not been reviewed within one week of submission is flagged as overdue in the reports.

Checking evidence is usually the Facilitator’s responsibility. Some centres organise this differently – if you’re unsure, check with your Lead Facilitator or Programme Lead.

Refer to the Evidence Standards: What Is Permissible guide. It covers every required field for both units, explains what counts as acceptable and gives examples of what to pass and what to return.

  1. Give the learner a mark of 100%.
  2. Click Submit review.

  2. Use the Assessment overall feedback field to explain clearly what is missing or needs to change.
  3. Click Submit review.

The learner will automatically receive an invitation to resubmit. You don’t need to contact them separately.

Chase the learner directly. You can see which learners in your group have not yet submitted by checking your progress reports.

No. Timing doesn’t affect whether evidence is permissible – if the content meets the required standard, pass it in the normal way. Bear in mind that centres have their own deadlines for learner completion, and NTA has an annual deadline. If a learner is submitting late, it’s worth checking they still have time to complete.

The answer will be in the Evidence Standards: What Is Permissible guide or in these FAQs. Both are written to cover every situation you’re likely to encounter – if you work through the relevant section, you should be able to make the call confidently.

Checking evidence is your job. NTA IQA (Internal Quality Assurance) separately audits a sample of that checking – typically 10% of a Facilitator’s learners – to make sure evidence is being reviewed consistently and to the right standard across all centres.

If NTA IQA identifies any issues during sampling, you will be contacted directly, with your Programme Lead copied in.
