Stoke and Staffordshire Employer Skills Competency Framework alignment

Oct 23

In today's rapidly evolving job market, equipping the workforce with essential skills and competencies is more crucial than ever. Stoke-on-Trent City Council has taken a proactive approach to this challenge with their Employer Skill Competency Framework.

This strategic tool helps organizations clearly communicate the behaviours and skills expected for specific roles. It serves as a guideline for employees, helping them understand the organization's values and what is expected of them in their roles. By defining these competencies, organizations can ensure that their staff are aligned with their strategic goals and can meet the demands of their positions.

The framework is designed to ensure that the city's workforce possesses the skills they need to succeed in the workplace, aiming to upskill and instil the following into every learner:

• Communication
• Resilience
• Can-Do Attitude
• Self-Awareness
• Honesty
• Positivity
• Confidence
• Teamwork
• Problem Solving

As part of our discussions with the careers hub, we meticulously examined how National Talent Academy courses align with the framework, and how each unit meets the requirements of the skills and behaviours identified as needed.

As anticipated, each skill was comprehensively covered through our NCFE accredited courses, including Time Management, which will be available to all our learners very soon.

We are excited to share our findings with the wider public in the image below.

And we are not stopping there. If you would like to see how our courses fit in with the skills framework in your organization, please book a free consultation with our founder, David Jaffa, here.
